Jules

Born in Jamaica, West Indies to a family endowed with incredible musical talent, Julia McLeary (Jules) developed an early fascination and affinity to the world of music and entertainment and was determined even then to incorporate it into her life. She began her journey ritualistically, like many other artists, amidst a spiritual audience, but not long after, began to perform locally in competitive arenas requiring indisputable talent in song and dance, in order to gain significant ground with her career.

After migrating to the U.S. in the early 80s, Jules further developed her talents by majoring in performing arts at Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY. There she studied acting and voice under the direction of a reputable classical trainer, performing as part of her repertoire, popular Broadway tunes from renowned acts like Cats, Evita, Porgy & Bess, as well as contemporary hits.

Jules’ relocated to South Florida in recent years where she was introduced to singer/songwriter, Doug E. Mack, and was reacquainted to her rich island heritage and its august musical foundations. Since that time, she has expanded her portfolio to reflect her understanding of musical origins, history and culture. Today, her genre spans from reggae to jazz to opera in an effort to honor the influences of iconic artists and music on her current eclectic style called Fusion which is a melding of classical, Latin and reggae rhythms. She has performed amongst popular reggae artists such as Beres Hammond, Morgan Heritage, and Luciano; just to name a few.

Recently Jules returned to her homeland and released her latest single, "We made love" which received spectacular reviews, and landed her live performances at the Ashanti and Peppers Nightclub as well as several interviews at leading radio and television stations on island as well as in the U.S., including PBC Television (Jamaica), WAVS-1170 AM (Florida), and also performed the National Anthem at the 2009 opening event for the Caribbean-American Soccer Association (CASA). Her latest album, Lovestory, debuts in early 2009. Jules
